On Saturday, June 2nd, the Indy Geek Girls caught The Fever. The Indiana Fever, to be exact.
The Indiana Fever, Indianapolis’ own WNBA team, hosted the Indy Geek Girls in the Legends Suite to watch the Fever take on the New York Liberty.
While we were treated to some amazing food and drink inside the suite (if you find yourself in the Legends suite, do not pass up the homemade mac-and-cheese!), the real treat was watching these athletes play. The Fever have made seven consecutive playoff appearances and it’s easy to see why.
We had the opportunity to hear from Julie Graue, the VP of Business Operations for the Fever, before the game. You can tell just from a few minutes of talking with her that this team is more than just a job or a sporting event to her. To Ms. Graue and the other members of the Indiana Fever organization, this team is about showcasing what women can do together. It’s about commitment to a larger goal. It’s about community and making the place you live in better for everyone.
Funny, I see a few connections between the WNBA and blogging.
As much fun as the Indy Geek Girls had together, we were all just as excited to return with our families. The Indiana Fever have made it easy and affordable for you to enjoy a game. Because we’re nice and we like to share, we’d love nothing more than to spread The Fever all over Indy. Here are some upcoming opportunities for you to catch the Indiana Fever:
Lucas Oil Family Night:
Catch a Saturday night game and bring the whole family! Starting at just $13, the price includes your ticket, a t-shirt, hot dog, Pepsi and chips. The Fever have four Saturday night games during the season in which you can catch this great deal: June 16, July 7, August 18 and September 1.
Title IX Trailblazers:
This year is the 40th Anniversary of Title IX. To celebrate, The Fever are hosting a special evening in the Legends Suite prior to the tipoff of the June 21 game. Enjoy the game from the suite, meet Birch Bayh, Coach Lin Dunn and several Title IX Trailblazers, and take home a commemorative Title IX gift. The coolest part? Your ticket price includes one ticket for a young girl from Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis to attend a Fever game.
Want to live it up like we did? It’s easy to do with the Fever’s Group Ticket Plan. Groups of 15 or more can take in the game from the Legends Suite at just $25 a ticket. Group tickets are available throughout the stadium beginning at just $10 a ticket. Take your friends, your Scout troop, or maybe your favorite Indy bloggers!
